10 March 2026Epicondylitis or "tennis elbow" is one of the most feared injuries by all padel players. It is a fairly common injury, very difficult to cure, which sometimes forces to reduce the pace of matches of our favorite hobby, or even, in the worst case, to stop playing for a while.
When we have this condition (or if we want to prevent it), there are three things that would be advisable to do: first, the most important and obvious measure is to consult a physiotherapist who can assess the condition of the injury and prescribe a treatment, usually first based on massages to relax and loosen the area, and then give us some exercises that we can do at home and that are intended to strengthen the muscles and to avoid relapses.
Secondly, and once consulted with the physiotherapist, it could be useful, especially when we are self-taught players, to attend some classes with a trainer to improve our technique. An inadequate technique when hitting (it is very typical the excess of "wristing") favors the appearance of this and other injuries.
Thirdly, we must review our material. The priority would be to use a not very heavy racket, normally with a soft rubber or of intermediate hardness, and that avoids that the vibrations produced when hitting the ball are transferred to the grip. Some of the most recommended blades to play with this injury are:
The Akkeron Cobra Protect A22. It is a racket created by Akkeron specifically for players who have this injury or want to prevent it. To do this, it benefits from the soft rubber used, special drilling, an anti-vibration located on the bridge of the blade that reduces vibrations and even the type of varnish used. In addition, it is a very pleasant racket to use, which lets you feel all the sensations when hitting the ball.
The Enebe Supra Carbon 21. The racket used by Javi Rico in the World Padel Tour last year incorporates Enebe's "Triple Bridge" technology to reduce the vibrations received by the wrist and elbow. It is recognized as one of the most balanced blades on the market.
The Víbora Black Mamba Liquid EditionShockOut: incorporates technology from the brand specialized in ShockOut anti-vibrators so that you can hit without receiving vibrations in the wrist and elbow, preventing and improving tennis elbow.
